SUMMER LEAGUE UPDATE: June 19

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –  Check out how Tennessee's current players are doing so far this summer in this week's summer league update.

Cape Cod Baseball League
INF Andre Lipcius – Harwich Mariners
Season Stats: 7 GP, .222 AVG, 2 R, 6 H, 2 2B, 2 RBI, .296 SLG, .250 OBP, 1 BB, 8 K
 
Lipcius recorded RBI doubles in back-to-back games to start his summer campaign and has had a hit in five of the seven games he's played in so far.
 
RHP Garrett Stallings – Harwich Mariners
Season Stats: 1 App, 1 GS, 0-0, 3.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 5 K
 
Stallings earned the starting nod for the Mariners in their season opener, a 3-2 win over the Orleans Firebirds. The Virginia native gave up two runs in six innings of work and struck out five while earning a no-decision.
 
RHP Zach Linginfelter – Brewster Whitecaps
Season Stats: 1 App, 1 GS, 0-0, 2.25 ERA, 4.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 3 BB, 8 K
 
Linginfelter started and made his first and only appearance so far this summer last Friday in a 10-1 victory over Chatham. The Sevierville native allowed just one run on one hit and struck out eight batters in four innings pitched.
 
RHP Andrew Schultz – Brewster Whitecaps
Season Stats: 2 App, 0-1, 3.37 ERA, 2.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 3 BB, 4 K
 
Schultz started his summer campaign strong by striking out two of the three batters he faced in a scoreless inning of work against Chatham on June 14. The hard-throwing right hander struggled in his second appearance, giving up a run while walking three batters in 1.2 innings pitched.
 
California Collegiate League
LHP Garrett Crochet – Santa Barbara Foresters
Season Stats: Season Stats: 2 App, 1 GS, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 3.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 4 K
 
Crochet has yet to allow a run and has given up just two hits in three innings of work so far this summer. The lefty picked up his first win of the summer on June 16 against the San Luis Obispo Blues after tossing one inning of relief in which he did not allow a hit and struck out two batters.
 
RHP Chase Wallace – Santa Barbara Foresters
Season Stats: 5 App, 0-0, 2 SV, 0.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 6 K
 
Wallace has been nearly unhittable out of the bullpen for the Foresters, allowing just one base hit in six innings of work this summer. The Sevierville native earned his second save of the summer in his last appearance on June 17 against the San Luis Obispo Blues. The right hander struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning to help Santa Barbara improve to 9-0 this summer.
 
INF/OF Jay Charleston – San Luis Obispo Blues
Season Stats: 10 GP, .295 AVG, 8 R, 13 H, 1 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, .477 SLG, .354 OBP, 4 BB, 11 K, 6 SB
 
Charleston leads the team with six stolen bases and two triples so far this summer while batting at a .295 clip. He also ranks third on the Blues with 13 hits and fourth on the squad with eight runs scored. In his last game in June 17 against Santa Barbara, Charleston went 2-for-4 with a run and a pair of stolen bases.
 
INF Luc Lipcius – San Luis Obispo Blues
Season Stats: 11 GP, .447 AVG, 11 R, 17 H, 5 2B, 9 RBI, .579 SLG, .562 OBP, 10 BB, 7 K
 
Lipcius currently leads the Blues with 17 hits and five doubles and ranks second on the team with nine RBI this summer. The Virginia native has already recorded five multi-hit games this summer and has recorded at least one base knock in nine of the 11 games he's played in.
 
Coastal Plains League
RHP Sean Hunley – Forest City Owls
Season Stats: 3 App, 3 GS, 1-2, 6.23 ERA, 13.0 IP, 12 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 4 BB, 18 K
 
Hunley struggled in his last start as the Owls fell to High Point-Thomasville HiToms, 9-3, on June 18. Despite striking out seven batters, the Mount Juliet native last just four innings and gave up five earned runs on eight hits to fall to 1-2 on the season.
 
LHP Redmond Walsh – Forest City Owls
Season Stats: 5 App, 1-0, 2 SV, 2.76 ERA, 16.1 IP, 14 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 25 K
 
Walsh has been one of the Owls top performers out of the bullpen this summer. The left hander has not allowed a run in three of his five appearances and leads the team with two saves, 25 strikeouts and 16.1 innings pitched so far this summer.
 
RHP Joshua Plummer – Florence RedWolves
Season Stats: 4 App, 1 GS, 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 8 BB, 15 K
 
Plummer received a no-decision in his first summer league start after giving up two runs (one earned) in four innings of work on June 11 against the Asheboro Copperheads. The Virginia native followed that with two shutout innings of relief in a 9-2 win over Lexington County on June 16 in which he struck out three batters and did not allow a hit.
 
Northwoods League
OF Evan Russell – Thunder Bay Border Cats
Season Stats: 17 GP, .186 AVG, 9 R, 11 H, 5 2B, 5 RBI, .271 SLG, .319 OBP, 10 BB, 10 K, 7 SB
 
After a slow start to the summer, Russell has picked up his play, recording a hit in five straight games. In that span, the Lexington, Tenn., native has recorded five hits, three doubles, four RBI and two stolen bases.
 
OF Brandon Trammell – Thunder Bay Border Cats
Season Stats: 8 GP, .233 AVG, 2 R, 7 H, 1 2B, 5 RBI, .267 SLG, .378 OBP, 7 BB, 6 K, 1 SB
 
Trammell went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in his last game, a 4-1 victory over Rochester on June 17. He also had a hit and drove in two runs against Wilmar on June 15.  
 
OF Zach Daniels – Kalamazoo Growlers
Season Stats: 17 GP, .214 AVG, 7 R, 12 H, 3 HR, 14 RBI, .429 SLG, .362 OBP, 12 BB, 17 K, 3 SB
 
In his past two games – a pair of wins over Wisconsin Rapids and Lakeshore – Daniels went 3-for-7 with two runs, a double, a home run and four RBI. The Georgia native leads the Growlers with three homers and ranks second on the team with 14 RBI this summer.
 
Smokey Mountain Collegiate League
LHP Will Heflin – Smokey Mountain Eagles
Season Stats: No Stats Available. Has helped lead the Eagles to a 5-3 record.
 
RHP Richard Jackson – Smokey Mountain Copperheads
Season Stats: No Stats Available. Has helped lead the Copperheads to a 6-3 record.
 
New England Collegiate Baseball League
RHP Donovan Benoit – Valley Blue Sox
Season Stats: 4 App, 0-0, 4.15 ERA, 4.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
 
After a shaky performance in his summer debut, Benoit has bounced back nicely by not allowing a single run over his last three appearances for the Blue Sox. The Florida native allowed just one hit and struck out two batters over 1.1 innings pitched in his most recent outing, a 4-3 win over Keene on June 14.
 
Valley Baseball League
LHP Alex Harper-Cook – Waynesboro Generals
Season Stats: 4 App, 1-0, 1.80 ERA, 10.0 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
 
Harper-Cook ranks second on the team with 10.0 innings pitched and boasts a 1.80 ERA. The Maryville native tossed 3.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts on June 15 against Covington.  
 
Prospect League
INF Wyatt Stapp – Champion City Kings
Season Stats: 7 GP, .222 AVG, 4 R, 4 H, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 4 BB, 5 K, 1 SB
 
Stapp doubled, walked and scored a run on June 15 in a loss to Danville and added another hit on June 17 against Kokomo.
